The 17th search is to scrutinise a sixth e-mail sent to me on 8 March 2005 by En. Mohd. Fadli Ghani from Kuala Lumpur. This is another short e-mail. The subject read "Doktor Melayu Pertama". It is 1.22 am.
En. Fadli asked if I had contacted Prof. Lokman. He provided Prof. Lokman's phone number.

Bingkisan Merdeka
This is a book published in 1957 to commemorate our Independence celebration. Inside the book is recorded an address of one of the contributors which mentioned "Asrama Dr. Latiff".
Exact location of Asrama Dr. Latiff
However, En. Fadli still cannot locate Asrama Dr. Latiff. It could be anywhere, possibly in KL, Kampung Baru, HKL or Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz.
The ones commonly heard are Jalan Yaakob Latiff which lies in front of Hospital UKM (HUKM) and Sekolah Menengah Yaakob Latif in Kampung Pandan.
Birth place of Dr. Abdul Latiff
En. Fadli is postive that Dr. Abdul Latiff was born and grew up in Kelang. A school teacher, Cikgu Tuan Syed Syaidali admitted that Dr. Abdul Latif studied at Victoria Institute (VI) with him. Dr. Latiff had commuted daily between KL and Kelang.

- He will append some books which he considered 'must read' in order to get the real story about the Medical School, Singapore
- He has accessed some Malay medical books in PNM, Pusat Dokumentasi Melayu DBP, and Pustaka Nasional Republik Indonesia.
- He has not accessed books in Khazanah Fathaniyah.
